Plainview firefighters had a busy day Thursday, fighting two separate fires in the area.
The Plainview Daily Herald says the first fire started around 1:30 p.m. in the 3700 block of Quincy.
Officials say flames started in the back of the Pro-Pac storage building and spread to several nearby pallets. One person was taken to the hospital and treated for smoke inhalation. The cause of the blaze is not yet know.
The second began around 8:30 p.m. in the 800 block of East 6th. The Herald reports that the former Ranchers and Farmers Supply complex was swallowed by flames. Firefighters worked for over an hour to try and get the fire under control.
The cause of this fire is also under investigation.
