LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Two men were taken to the hospital Saturday after a discussion at a mobile home park turned violent. Police say one of the men was hit over the head with a shovel "three or four times."

Around 5 p.m. Saturday, police responded to a disturbance at the Family Community Center mobile home park at 2606 N. Martin Luther King Blvd.

The sergeant on the scene said what started as an argument over work quickly turned into a violent confrontation. The sergeant says the two men were fighting and throwing things at each other.

Police say 41-year-old Valentine Hernandez, Jr. hit 61-year-old Anthony Castro, Jr. with a shovel during the fight.

A witness on the scene says police confiscated a shovel that was covered in blood.

Castro was sent to Covenant with serious injuries and has since been released. Hernandez is in satisfactory condition at UMC.
