He's been out of the limelight and in recovery. Councilman T.J. Patterson made his first public appearance Monday after recently undergoing an 8 1/2 hour neck surgery. According to doctors he suffered from "Cervical Cord Compression" which inhibited the use of his right leg and arms. He's expected to make a full recovery, and spoke about the benefits of rehab.
"It gives you strength and muscle, endurance. Persistence. You set goals. Gives you desire. Gives you confidence. Make you fly high. I feel good brother. I feel good. You all may out run me but I'm going to catch up with you after a while." Patterson said.
Patterson also said he's looking forward to his City Council runoff against Floyd Price on June 26th.
