Union Reaches Tentative Agreement With SBC Communications

There's word of a tentative contract agreement after a four-day strike at SBC Communications. Union officials say the tentative deal improves wages and strengthens employment security. It also allows access and opportunity for union members as they move from traditional telecom work to the new technologies of the industry.

The five-year deal is subject to member ratification, and covers workers in 13 states.
