The National Weather Service reports that at the airport the rain total is
0.05", which is the only measurable rain so far this July. Lubbock's
year-to-date total as of 6:45 this morning is 5.31", which is about
4.6" below average. Last year at this time the year-to-date total was 1.11".
The heavy rain near Tulia overnight caused some minor road and street flooding.
Today there is a good chance of rain in your neighborhood, with some localized
heavy rain still likely. Otherwise today will be mostly cloudy and cooler.
Late today, tonight, and tomorrow rain chances fall off, with isolated thunderstorms and rain showers remaining a possibility. Late week looks dry, with near average temperatures for the time of year.
