LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Texas Tech quarterback Seth Doege has been invited for the second straight year to attend the Manning Passing Academy Thursday through Saturday in Thibadoux, La.
Doege passed for over 4,000 yards and 28 TD's this season, and he's excited about rubbing elbows with the quarterback elite.
"It's a fun experience, especially getting to meet everybody," Doege told reporters last week. "[John] Gruden's there, there's some NFL analysts there...the best part is getting a couple throwing sessions with Peyton and Eli; as a quarterback, it doesn't get much better than that."
The former Frenship quarterback also enjoys the instruction part of the weekend and helping other high school quarterbacks who hope to be in his position one day.
"You get to teach some kids, show them what you've learned," said Doege. "It's just an awesome [event] and I'm excited to go."
As for what he wants to work on while in southern Louisiana, Doege keeps it fairly simple.
"I think I'm always going to work on accuracy," said the Texas Tech gun slinger. "I'm just going to try and get better every day. There's a lot of things I can work on, but I'm going to continue to try to be the most accurate passer in the country."
