The lights are dimming in tanning beds around the world because more and more countries are tightening restrictions on tanning bed usage. A new study from the Colorado School of Public Health finds the number of nations with indoor tanning laws targeting children and teens increased from two countries in 2003 to 11 in 2011. This comes as evidence has mounted worldwide linking tanning beds with an increased risk for skin cancer and melanoma. There is no federal law against indoor tanning for teens in the United States. It's still up to individual states to make their own restrictions.
