You know dancing is good exercise, but have you ever thought about belly dancing as a workout you might enjoy?
In New York, a group of seniors are trying it and giving it great reviews, so are their doctors. Because belly dancing works every part of the body, from the feet to the hips to the shoulders and neck.
"It's fun. It's great. We love it. I have so much energy the next day," says Faith Pomponio, age 77.
"My back is giving me trouble and this seems to help. You know, I guess moving it lubricates the joints or something, right?" says Frances Half, age 74.
Texas Tech and the YWCA have at times offered belly dancing classes here in Lubbock. Nothing right now, but the "Y" did tell us this summer that they're offering Flamenco lessons if you're interested.
