This weekend's six-man football and basketball all-star games will showcase some of the best football talent in the area...regardless of classification.
"This is a great way to showcase six man football, you'll see the best of the best out here," West All-Star coach Kent Allison said. "There are some really good athletes out here, and some of these kids could play at just about any [high school] level."
In fact, being the head coach of the Meadow Broncos, Allison knows how talented the area teams and players in the six man ranks are.
"This is the heart of six man country right here," Allison explained. "I think it will continue to grow, and it's become a very popular game in West Texas. Right now in six man football, there are some real good coaches coaching it, good players playing it, and the caliber of six man football is very entertaining."
The Meadow coaching staff is looking forward to the Division I game kicking off Friday 7:30pm at Wolfforth Frenship High School.
"It's just a great honor for me and my coaching staff," said Allison. "Really, it's a blessing for me to be around such great, outstanding kids. The future of our country is in good hands with the good men we have out here."
Division II will also play their football game Saturday 7:30pm in Wolfforth.
