Buckled-up children avoid serious injury after Friday rollover

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

One family was lucky to avoid serious injury Friday after a dramatic roll-over in which only a little pink teddy bear was ejected.

The family was heading toward Lubbock on Highway 84 when DPS tells us the driver turned into the median, then corrected, causing the van to roll off the highway. 

Two Aerocare units were called out to the accident which at first appeared to be very serious at about 10:30 a.m. 

EMS took one woman to UMC, but officials tell us she was recovering Friday evening with no apparent trauma. 

Amazingly, the two children seated in the back were apparently unharmed. They were buckled up and restrained in the vehicle when it rolled.

There were three adults and two children in the van. One child is being held for observation and one adult is staying in the hospital overnight.
