Traffic delays possible with FM 2641 road work

From Texas Department of Transportation:

Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) crews will begin work on Monday, July 23, to seal coat FM 2641 (Regis Street), from I-27 to US 62 in Lubbock County. The operation is expected to take several days to complete and will affect traffic on FM 2641 at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on Monday and Tuesday (July 23-24).

"Motorists can expect lane closures and a pilot car to guide traffic through the work zone. Some short traffic delays are possible," said Dianah Ascencio, TxDOT public information officer. "Travelers heading to the Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport should take the seal coat operation into consideration to ensure they allow adequate time to catch their flight."

Motorists are also asked to drive with caution through the work zone, be on the lookout for workers and avoid distractions for their own safety and the safety of the workers.

The operation is part of the Lubbock District's 2012 seal coat program that is making $10.57 million of preventative maintenance improvements during the months of July and August.
