Back in November, the former restaurant manager for the Overton Hotel filed a labor lawsuit, claiming she was fired in violation of the Family and Medical Leave Act. On Wednesday, the management company for the Overton, 1859 Historic Hotels Ltd., responded.
LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
Last year Kerri Wike, the former
restaurant manager for the Overton Hotel, filed a labor lawsuit. Wike claimed she was fired in violation of
the Family and Medical Leave Act.
At the time, the management company for
the Overton, 1859 Historic Hotels Ltd., denied the allegations. Now the two sides have settled out of
court.
Last week a U.S. District Judge signed
an order that says, "The parties have indicated to the Court that they have
settled this case." Then on Tuesday
morning the case was closed.
Court records say the two sides reached
a confidential deal after mediation. Other details of the settlement were not listed in court records.
