Posted: Updated:

Some significant rain fell in the KCBD viewing area late yesterday and early this morning. Here are the rain reports through 6:30 AM today from the Texas Tech Mesonet (a network of weather stations) and other sources:

  • 1.71 LAKE ALAN HENRY
  • 1.38 GUTHRIE
  • 1.18 BOVINA
  • 0.62 SNYDER
  • 0.23 ROARING SPRINGS
  • 0.21 PLAINVIEW
  • 0.19 GRAHAM
  • 0.06 FLOYDADA
  • 0.04 NORTHFIELD
  • 0.03 TATUM
  • 0.02 CAPROCK CANYONS
  • 0.02 NORTHFIELD
  • 0.01 SPUR
  • 0.01 DENVER CITY

Rain chances, though low at any one location, continue this afternoon and evening. A few storms may linger into the night with a slight chance of isolated thundershowers early Wednesday. The rain and thunderstorm pattern should repeat Wednesday and Wednesday night, with a slight increase in rain chances Thursday.

With the expected slow movement of these storms and showers some additional, but spotty, significant rainfall is likely.

The temperatures will remain about the same with hot afternoons and very warm nights. Brief periods of heat relief will accompany the spotty showers.
