The Post cook-off winner is automatically given an invitation to the Kansas City Royal National Barbeque
Barbeque enthusiasts from across the South Plains will be here in Post next month, going toe to toe. The second annual "Smokin' in the Park" Barbeque Cook-Off is scheduled for August 24th and 25th at the Post City Park.
There will be live music and barbeque plates for sale, and anyone is invited to come out. Participants in the cook-off will be competing for the chance to compete at a higher level.
Kerry Dixon, Rotary Club President, said, "We were able to get Senator Robert Duncan to proclaim our cook off as a state championship cook off. That gives a lot of validity to the cook off. If you win, you're automatically given an invitation to the Kansas City Royal National Barbeque."
The event is hosted by the Rotary Club in Post, And all of the money raised will go toward their global project, to eradicate polo. Remaining monies will be pumped into the community in the form of scholarships for Post High School graduates.
