LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

City boards already answer to the public, but City Councilman Todd Klein is upping the ante on public disclosure.

Klein is asking Lubbock Power and Light, the city's water advisory board, LEDA (the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance), and other boards and commissions to attend evening sessions with the City Council.

Previously, Klein pushed to have at least four evening council meetings every year. He wants the various boards to be available to take questions from the public and from the council. The next regular council meeting is next week, and it just happens to be an evening meeting.
