Food for Thought Report 6.3

It's heavenly hamburgers in more ways than one at this week's only top performing restaurant. We begin however, with a top peforming bakery whose cookies are a little slice of heaven themselves.

Food for Thought 6.3
Here is a complete list of the restaurants and their violations for the week ending on 6/3/04.

We start with Bakery Creations at 3414 82nd Street. It's what's in their batter that makes them popular with customers, but it's their cleanliness that makes them tops in this week's Food for Thought.

Next, we move east to a hidden treasure. Nestled off MLK Boulevard at 1513 E. 5th. We find the Lunch House our second top performer.  Brenda and Willie work at the Lunch Box on behalf of their church, Hope Deliverance Temple.  Manager, Brenda Manahan says, "Fish dinners, fish filets, the best on the east side, best burgers on the east side, probably in town." Brenda says their tasty dinners keep them busy, largely with regulars who have discovered just how good the ladies make their very favorite dishes.

For Brenda and Willie though, cleanliness is next to Godliness. Brenda says, "Sometimes we get real busy and when the rush dies down, we get busy again cleaning. Cleaning and prepping so we'll be ready for the next rush." The Lunch House opens at 11 a.m. and closes at 10 p.m, Monday through Saturday.  They're getting so popular they say their trying to save up to get a bigger place!
