Driver charged with intoxication assault after head-on collision

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Allen Joyce died Monday morning, 10 days after a head-on collision at the 1600 block of 50th Street in Lubbock. 

On Friday, James Cobbs, the driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident, was arrested on intoxication assault charges. Lubbock Police are working with the DA's office to discuss upgrading the charges as a result of Joyce's death. 

Police say Cobbs crossed the median and collided head on with Joyce's vehicle.
