The Lubbock Inflammatory Bowel Disease Support Group will meet at 7:30 p.m., Friday at St. Elizabeth's Catholic University Parish, 2316 Broadway.
The group is open to children and adults living with Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis or celiac disease. IBD covers a group of disorders in which the intestines become inflamed, probably as a result of an immune reaction of the body against its own intestinal tissue. Because inflammatory bowel disease is a chronic disorder and symptoms keep coming back, patients can become depressed.
