Celebrating unique differences in people who are left-handed

Posted: Updated:

Today is International Left-Handed Day.  It's a time to celebrate the unique differences in people who favor the left hand. Despite all the stories of parents and teachers who might have encouraged a child to write with the right instead of the left hand.  Those lefties, roughly 10 percent of the population, live with the potential for some big advantages.

Dr. Bradley Miller said, "Most people feel that the left-handed folks appear to be more likely skilled. So although they are left-handed, they are also better with their right hand as well. So things like sports, but also musicians and artistry where the use of both hands to high level. This is the thing where they can excel."

Four of our last seven Commander-in-Chiefs have been left-handers...including President Obama.
