There was much needed, but spotty, rainfall this morning in the KCBD viewing area. Morning showers tend to suppress afternoon thunderstorms, but a cold front slowly moving in from the north late Thursday should be enough to touch off additional though isolated thunderstorms.
The severe weather potential remains
low, but conditions will be favorable for strong thunderstorms which may
produce high winds and locally heavy rain.
Thunderstorms and rain chances look encouraging Friday and this weekend. Our
days will be a little cooler, with highs in the 80s. Significant rains would
result in highs Saturday and Sunday even lower than what is indicated in our
extended forecast
