Less Stop, More Go Downtown

City of Lubbock Traffic Engineer Jere Hart says the city studied the traffic flow downtown, and also collision statistics and pedestrian use and found that several traffic lights there were no longer needed.

The city wants to remove three traffic lights along Broadway at Avenue J, Avenue M, and Avenue O. Another signal at Main & Avenue J, and also the signal at 14th and Avenue K.

But before removal, citizens must give their opinions. That hearing will be at the Citizens Traffic Commission Meeting on Tuesday, June 15th at 10 a.m. It will be at City Hall Room 103.
