LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

A former prison guard is headed to prison after admitting to federal bribery charges.

Johnny Haynes was sentenced Friday to 10 months as part of his guilty plea earlier this year.

Haynes was a guard at the Giles Dalby unit in Post. He admits he accepted $750 in exchange for smuggling one ounce of marijuana into the prison. He was caught in an under-cover sting by federal investigators.
