Tech police investigating Marine recruiter's contact with underage girl

Texas Tech Police are investigating a Marine who had contact with an underage girl.

According to a police report, investigators say the 21-year-old Marine was recruiting on campus in early July. That's when a 13-year-old student from Nixon-Smiley CISD asked him for his number.

Police say the young girl was attending a summer band camp at Tech. Officials say the two talked by phone and text message for a couple of days.

Right now, police are not releasing the name of the suspect because no charges have been filed.
