Major thoroughfare micro-surfacing work begins Wednesday

From City of Lubbock:

Beginning Wednesday evening, September 5, Ballou Pavement Solutions, under contract with the City of Lubbock, will begin applying two courses of Micro-Surfacing on major thoroughfares.  The work will take place during the overnight hours. 

The hours of operation will be between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.  There will be construction activity at different times during this process resulting in times when the roadway could be blocked off with no workers present.

The following thoroughfares will be affected at different times during this process.

  • 50th Street Avenue Q to University Avenue             
  • University Avenue 19th Street to 34th Street   

Motorists are urged to allow extra time for delays or to find alternate routes. This work will take approximately two weeks to complete dependent upon weather and construction.
