City Gives Green Light To Remove Traffic Lights

The city has decided to remove several traffic lights in downtown Lubbock.

After hearing public comments Tuesday morning, city officials voted to remove two lights on Broadway at Avenues J and O. Plus, lights at Main and Avenue J and 14th and Avenue K. Lights at these locations will continue to flash until the scheduled removal date of July first.

The decision to take down the traffic lights comes after a survey was done on the flow of traffic in downtown Lubbock.
