Lubbock Boy Recovering Following Near Drowning

A child can drown in the time it takes to answer a phone, that was almost the case for a one year old Lubbock boy Tuesday.

Around eleven o'clock Tuesday morning, EMS was called to a home in the 1700 block of 24th Street. That's where Lubbock Police say one child almost drowned while he was left unattended in a kiddy pool with two other small children.

"He was left unattended for several minutes while the baby-sitter went inside to change the clothing on one of the other children," said Public Information Officer, Victor Quintana.

EMS revived the child and he is now in critical condition at UMC.
