Construction underway for Drainage Improvements Project

From City of Lubbock:

Construction on the Northwest Lubbock Drainage Improvements Project is underway. Work has been ongoing at the storm sewer outfall in the vicinity of Fiesta Plaza north of US Highway 84 and west of University Avenue.

During the week of September 3rd, construction activity will also begin on Grinnell Street west of the intersection at Indiana Avenue. Portions of Grinnell Street will be closed in this vicinity during tunneling operations but Indiana Avenue will remain open at this location.

Additionally, construction activity will also occur along Fordham Street between US Highway 84 and Detroit Avenue. This portion of Fordham Street will be closed to through-traffic during the construction activity for tunneling and trenching activities to install a storm sewer box pipe.

Traffic detours will be set up at locations where construction activity will occur, and citizens are encouraged to use caution.
