Texas Tech has made plans to honor the memory of an incoming freshman killed last week, on her way home from orientation.
The accident happened on US 380, about 10 miles west of Roswell. Danielle Fleming was a passenger in a pickup driven by Nicole Slayton. According to New Mexico State Police, the pair were travelling at a high rate of speed when the truck veered off the road. Slayton overcorrected, and car skidded off road and flipped many times before coming to rest in a pasture. Both women were pronounced dead at the scene.
The flags in Texas Tech Memorial Circle will fly at half staff, Monday July 12th, which is after the 30 days already set aside in memory of Ronald Reagan.
