The Lubbock skyline has been changed forever, as the final walls of the Burrus Grain Elevator are torn down.
The project is far from over though. Tx-DOT says it won't be until August before the rest of it is cleared away. There are still dozens of feet of the elevator that extend underground that have to be extracted. Now crews will carry away the debris that is left. All that rubble will be crushed and recycled for use in Lubbock roadways.
