The Texas Tech Board of Regents has approved the 13-year grant of rights with the new Big 12 television agreement.
The Big 12 announced a deal with ESPN and Fox Sports a few days ago that would put more Big 12 games - including Texas Tech - on TV.
Texas Tech Athletic Director Kirby Hocutt says the $2.5 billion dollar deal will give them more national visibility, allowing them to grow their brand and continue to expand their revenue.
"The stability from the 13 year grant of rights that has not ever been enjoyed by this league and...just knowing that we, as a Big 12 Conference, will be together for a long time. That's probably one of the most enjoyable benefits of this agreement," Hocutt said.
Tech and the other schools are expected to get roughly $20 million each.
