Helicopter crash at Slaton airport

SLATON, TX -

Firefighters, Sheriff's Deputies and DPS were on the scene of a helicopter crash just after 4 PM Tuesday at the Slaton airport. 

A KCBD NewsChannel 11 crew on the scene was told that a helicopter pilot attempted to land his personal helicopter on a platform at the airport.  The helicopter skidded off the platform and caught fire.  The pilot escaped with no injuries, and FAA will be investigating.
