Last week I said I had faith in Texas Tech's Athletic Director to resolve the Coach Billy Gillispie issues. And, it looks like he has successfully done it. Some will say that Texas Tech paid a coach to leave when he should have been fired. And that may very well be the case.
While it stings to lose a promising coach, pay him almost a million dollars to go away, and have to start all over right before the season, it appears this was the best possible resolution.
Consider This: It is disappointing Texas Tech basketball has lost its momentum once again, and the hard reality is it could take years to build up the program.
But like I said last week, Texas Tech will survive. And while the administration looks for a new leader, my hope is that this year's team will pull together and become the surprise story of the season.
