BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

With a rent-a-win game scheduled for this Saturday against Towson State, LSU will be playing with a trip to Florida in the back of their minds and will be working to correct mistakes that continue to haunt the team.

LSU head coach Les Miles said the mistakes can and will be corrected, "We have some things to fix, and we're looking forward to it. I can tell you our team is looking forward to it as well. But we turn the ball over twice, we go down and first two drives weren't as efficient offensively as we've been. Right down the field, we get down to the one-yard line, and we throw it on the ground. The reason that we did is because we have a good guy at center, and he didn't really understand the cadence and what's going on. That's something that's easily fixed."

"I think the good news is that our team understands the position they're in. If they want to win a division or a conference, they're going to have to fix their mistakes. They understand that it's not like a new conversation, and it's not like the practice is going to alter in any way. Ball security is going to be the first thing on that practice schedule every week anyway. It's really just awareness and making them understand that there is no personal liberty here. This is a must, to play the way we play. To do the things that we need to do, it has to take hold. I can't imagine that it won't. This is not something that is new to the team, it needs to be addressed more specifically."

Miles had praise for the visiting Tigers this weekend, "Towson State is used to winning, they're a conference champion and 2-1 this year. They are a team that is going to come in and play here and give us their best shot. They have very good special teams, good concept on offense, and a defense that flies to the ball. Coach Ambrose has done a very good job there, and his team is well-coached and prepared."

For those wondering, Towson is ranked #13 in this week's Coaches Football Championship Subdivision poll.

Kickoff is set for 6pm at Tiger Stadium and the game will air on ESPNU.

With offenses becoming increasingly explosive, plugging the holes is more imperative than ever. It's no surprise Alabama and Florida top the list, but the rest of the rankings may surprise you.
