Lubbock police looking for Maedgen Elementary purse snatcher

LPD is investigating an early-morning robbery at Maedgen Elementary. The victim parked her vehicle there and began to walk toward the nearest school entrance.

The suspect came from behind and grabbed her purse while forcibly pulling her to the ground. The suspect took the purse and was last seen running west toward the alley of 4000 45th Street.

The victim received minor injuries and was taken to a medical facility for treatment. The investigation is on-going.

Lubbock ISD released a statement about the incident on Friday:

Early this morning, before students arrived, an LISD employee was knocked down and her purse was stolen by an unknown man.  The employee was transported to the hospital, treated and released.  LISD Police are working with the Lubbock Police Department to identify and apprehend the individual.  Anyone with information on this incident should contact law enforcement.
