Workforce Solutions urges employers to hire the disabled

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

October is National Disability Employment Awareness month.

And to help raise awareness, Workforce Solutions South Plains has joined with area organizations to show employers the importance of hiring disabled people.

CEO of Workforce Solutions, Martin Aguirre, urged employers to focus on the abilities of employees that outweigh their disabilities.

He said employers have the potential to qualify for tax credits who hire those with disabilities.

Such as the architectural barrier tax credit if the employer needs to modify the workplace.
