Tech cracks top 25, few tickets remain for OU game

Provided by Texas Tech Athletics

Texas Tech improved to 4-0 on the season and 1-0 in Big 12 play by virtue of Saturday night's win at Iowa State, and that has catapulted the Red Raiders into the Top 25 for the first time since Oct. 23, 2011, when the Red Raiders were ranked No. 19 after an upset win at No. 1 Oklahoma.

Texas Tech stands at No. 24 in this week's USA Today/Coaches Top 25 Poll and received 39 votes in the Associated Press Poll. Tech's national ranking will set up the first Top 25 matchup for the Red Raiders since facing No. 20 Mississippi in the 2008 AT&T Cotton Bowl. Oklahoma (2-1; 0-1 BIG 12) will bring a No. 14 national ranking in the USA Today/Coaches Poll and a No. 17 ranking by the Associated Press into Saturday's game at Jones AT&T Stadium.

Less than 2,000 tickets remain for Saturday's game against Oklahoma and are available for immediate purchase online at texastech.com/tickets. Should tickets remain available on Monday morning, orders can be placed in the athletics ticket office beginning at 8:30 a.m. Phone orders can be made beginning at 8:30 on Monday morning by calling (806) 742-TECH.

Saturday's game against Oklahoma will be the Hispanic Appreciate Game and fans are encouraged to use the hashtags #LosRaidersRojos and #WreckOU this week while engaging on social media. The game will kickoff at 2:30 p.m. and will be televised regionally on ABC with a reverse national mirror on ESPN2. Fans that don't get the game on their ABC affiliate station will be able to watch on ESPN2.
