LUBBOCK, TX – Lubbock Christian University men's basketball head coach Todd Duncan has confirmed the 2012-2013 season schedule and it tips off Thursday, Nov.1 in Abilene, Texas with a neutral site contest at Abilene Christian against Texas Wesleyan University.
The highlight of the Chaparrals schedule is a trip to Nacogdoches, Texas on Saturday Dec. 15 to face NCAA Div. I Stephen F. Austin University. The home opener inside Rip Griffin Center is scheduled for Nov. 6th with Our Lady of the Lake University facing the Chaps at 7 p.m. Sooner Athletic Conference play will occupy 16 of the 29 regular season dates, with the conference opener scheduled for Dec. 4 at home against rival Wayland Baptist University. LCU, who is playing in their final NAIA season and will compete in NCAA Div. II Heartland Conference next season, will play six games against NCAA Div. II opponents, with home-and-home contests set with Angelo State, Eastern New Mexico and New Mexico Highlands. The Chaps have 13 regular season games scheduled at home and 16 on the road.
The Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament will be hosted by Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Okla. from Feb. 28 – Mar.2. The Chaps top goal is to make it to the Buffalo Funds NAIA Division I Men's Basketball Championship for the first time since 2005 and it is scheduled from March 13-19 in Kansas City, Mo.
