"It's Better to Know" Campaign Bringing Awareness to Hub City

280,000. The Centers for Disease Control thinks that is the number of Americans who are HIV positive and don't know it.

The CDC also estimates that 850,000 to 950,000 Americans are currently living with HIV. Including more than 300,000 living with AIDS. That's why Lubbock, and other communities across the country are participating in National HIV Testing Day.

This year's campaign is "It's Better to Know" beginning at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, HIV testing staff will be available at the corner of 18th Street & Avenue G.

Staff there will answer questions, provide counseling, and offer free HIV testing.
