"It's been a blessing to serve the city of Lubbock for 20 years," T.J. Patterson said.
The results are in, and Lubbock City Council District 2 has a new representative. After 22 years of service, district two says goodbye to Councilman Patterson. Incumbent Patterson faced Lubbock Police Veteran Floyd Price.
These are your final election results: Price had 52.5% of the vote, Patterson had 47.5% of the vote. NewsChannel 11 caught up with Patterson. He says he wishes the best for Price and also has a piece of advice for the new councilman.
"I wish him well, may God bless him and his family in everything he does. I'll share one thing with the incoming council brother, you better keep that phone on, because they're gonna wear you to death," said Patterson.
While Patterson was not celebrating a victory, he did celebrate his birthday. While NewsChannel 11 was there his family and friends surprised him with a birthday cake.
