LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
The two suspects related to the theft of mail in New Home were both in court Wednesday morning. Ty Page, 28, of New Home and Victoria Bridges, 22, of Lubbock were indicted on federal charges related to mail theft on September 12.
On Wednesday, Page went before the local federal magistrate to hear the charges against him and ask that a public defender be appointed as his defense attorney. Bridges pleaded not guilty and her trial was tentatively set for November 5.
The Post Office in New Home was shut down over the summer. Federal officials did not disclose the reasoning for the closure at the time except to say it was not for budget cuts.
Page has not yet entered a plea. He'll have a chance to do that next week.
