Idalou man killed in overnight motorcycle accident

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

An Idalou man died Thursday morning from injuries sustained in an overnight motorcycle accident. Jason Smart, 34, was transported to UMC by EMS with serious injuries but later died at the hospital.

Police say a pickup truck and motorcycle were going east on S Loop 289 near the South Plains Mall, around 2:45 a.m. Thursday. As they were going around a curve, police say Smart's motorcycle clipped the back of the truck and then crashed.
