WHAT: Texas Tech University's homecoming, "Texas: Don't Wreck with Tech" features a weeklong celebration of spirit and tradition beginning Oct. 8. The week culminates with the homecoming football game versus new conference rival, West Virginia.

EVENT: Student organizations compete in many of the events throughout the week, including the Spirit Board and Spirit Banner competitions, S.O. Sing, and the parade float contest. Homecoming king and queen will be announced during halftime of Saturday's football game.
