Meredith LedbetterLUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
A Lubbock woman charged with the murder of a mother and son in East Lubbock County pleaded guilty on Monday.
Meredith Ledbetter has been sentenced to life in prison after she confessed to killing Joanie Parker and Parker's son Derek Hale.
The two were found dead in a field Southeast of Idalou in May of 2011.
Police say Meredith, along with her husband, Casey Ledbetter, killed Hale during a robbery.
Investigators say the couple then told Parker to bring them $4,000 to help her son get out of trouble. That's when investigators say they killed her, too.
KCBD has not received any information on whether or not Casey has entered a plea or is awaiting trial.
