Karin McCay and a KCBD news crew documented the experience of dozens of World War Two and Korean War veterans on the South Plains Honor Flight to Washington D.C.
LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
Those behind the South Plains Honor Flight are working to make sure the flight can happen again next year for all the veterans who couldn't make it to DC this time around.
"Every year we plan to take a charter jet to Washington, DC and honor them for their service by giving them a few days in the capital city, viewing their monument," Dave King, Chairman of the South Plains Honor Flight, said.
Lubbock Mayor Glen Robertson said, "This is one of the best causes I've ever been a part of. I would encourage everyone to be a part of it so we can help continue this on a regular basis."
The gun show provided the South Plains Honor Flight a table on Saturday to help them raise funds for next year's flight.
