The number is still climbing. Now 15 have died, and another 212 have developed rare fungal meningitis linked to contaminated steroid injections. Federal investigators are now looking into whether other products from the implicated pharmacy might also be affected. The steroid injections were made at the New England Compounding Center, which has since suspended operations. We've known that 13,000 patients may have received a contaminated steroid injection. Now the FDA is expanding that warning to anyone who received any kind of injection made by that New England pharmacy.
