Lady Raiders' Cook-Taylor out for season, Schneider to miss time

LUBBOCK, Texas — Texas Tech women's basketball announced on Tuesday that freshman Ivonne Cook-Taylor will miss the 2012-13 season and junior Haley Schneider will be out for the next 10 days.

Cook-Taylor tore her ACL this past week during preseason workouts. She will have surgery at the end of the month to repair the tear and will begin rehabilitation thereafter and will redshirt this season.

Schneider had surgery (partial thyroidectomy) early Monday morning to remove a benign mass from her thyroid and is expected to be out for the next 10 days but should be ready for the start of the season on Nov. 11.

Tech will continue preseason practices over the next three weeks before its first exhibition game on Nov. 4 against Midwestern State. The 2012-13 regular season begins Nov. 11 at Arizona State.
