From Texas Department of Public Safety:
The Texas DPS Criminal Investigation Division executed a search warrant in the 1800 block of 49th street in Lubbock.
As a result of a tip the execution of the warrant seized, 122 pounds of Marijuana, along with $23,018.00 in currency, at a Lubbock residence.
The value of the Marijuana is estimated at a street value of $39,650.00. The residence is also within 1,000 feet of the Broad Horizons Learning Center, located at 2101-49th street.
Arrested without incident was David Gutierrez, 33 year old of Lubbock. Gutierrez was charged with Possession of Marijuana over 50 pounds, but less that 2,000 pounds in a Drug Free Zone (a 2nd Degree Felony); Money Laundering from $20,000-$100,000 dollars (a 3rd Degree Felony); and Parole Violation for the Offense of Delivery of Cocaine 4 to 200 grams (a 1st Degree Felony).
Also arrested at the residence without incident was David Cervantes, Jr., 22 year old of Lubbock. He was arrested with outstanding warrants from the Lubbock Police Department.
Both suspects were transported and released to the Lubbock County Detention Center. The case is still ongoing.
