Wednesday, the last day of October, will be very much like Tuesday. A chilly early morning, a very warm afternoon, sunny skies, and light winds. The winds Tuesday were the lightest in months - the Lubbock airport recorded an average wind speed for the day (midnight to midnight) of just 4 mph and a peak wind for the day of just 10 mph.
Wednesday evening will be as mild as the last:
The next two days also will be sunny with warm afternoons, though Friday afternoon will become gusty - a cold front moves through the KCBD viewing area early Saturday. Check on the cooler temperatures in our forecast.
The weekend marks the end of Daylight Saving Time (DST), officially at 2 AM Sunday. Late Saturday or early Sunday set your timepieces BACK one hour. By the clock, sunrise will come an hour earlier, but so will sunset. Dawn will begin a little before 7 in the morning, but dusk will begin before 6 in the evening.
