From children to adults and even a few animals, thousands toughed the heat for this year's 4th on Broadway.
The streets in downtown Lubbock were lined with watchers of all ages today as the 4th on Broadway kicked off with the annual parade. The parade route stretches from the downtown area to the Texas Tech campus.
Floats, horses, marching bands, and even a few local television personalities entertained the massive crowd. The parade was followed by the street fair which included dozens of booths and of course, fair food.
Early estimates are that about 135,000 people attended this year's parade and street fair.
