Driver critically injured in Saturday morning rollover

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

A driver is in critical condition after a Saturday morning rollover at 1600 North Loop 289.

Police say Christopher Ray Amparan, 27, was driving west around 10 a.m. when his 2004 Honda Element left the roadway and struck a guardrail. Amparan was ejected when the vehicle flipped.

He was taken to UMC with life-threatening injuries.

Police say the driver had been drinking.
